Lassiter Wrestling

Hey everyone!! Hope you’re all doing well during all of this.  I wanted to give a little update on things and also mention a few things I’d like everyone to participate in.  It’s a bit long, so bear with me….

• Academics- By now, I’m sure you’re all aware that grades can drop no lower than what was posted March 13th.  You CAN however continue to try and improve those grades.  Take advantage of this time to learn and raise your scores and help your GPA! The Lassiter Digital Days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Wednesdays are designate for student catch-up and teacher collaboration.  COMMUNICATE with teachers!  We’re all very willing to help out with anything we can.  Even if you’re satisfied with your grades now, just send a few emails checking in with people. 

• A few have asked about wrestling awards and letters from this past season since our banquet was cancelled…..Unfortunately that’s going to all have to wait. I can’t get each of you all of the awards you earned over the season until restrictions ease up a good bit.  I’ve even thought about doing the awards presentations on Zoom and then handing out the physical trophies when we are back on campus.  That’ll take some scheduling for us all to available, so I’ll keep you posted!

• Summer Wrestling---Everything is on hold until Gov/ Kemp reopens Georgia and CCSD/GHSA give us the all-clear.  Ohio State camp is cancelled though. 

• Rudis Spiritwear—I’m doing things a bit different this year.  We are ordering from Rudis this season.  I’ve spoken with their sales rep, and for us to have our gear before the season starts, I need to place our order around Labor Day.  I’ve attached a flier with items and pricing.  We’ll collect all your orders and place one large order as a booster club to get the quantity discounts.  We’re still a long way off, but I wanted to get it out to you all.  I’m excited, it all looks awesome!

• Instagram Wrestling Picture Contest ends Monday night! Post your best wrestling themed pics to Intagram and tag @lassiterwrestling  . No limit to amount posted (keep em’ appropriate

• Zoom Meeting Tuesday April 21 @ 6:00 PM. Open to all wrestlers, managers, coaches, and parents.

  I’d love to see you all join in!

Lastly------- SOCIAL distancing may not be the right term to use.  We need PHYSICAL distancing to be safe, please continue to be socially active and healthy.  Call, text, facetime, Zoom, etc……..Check in with others if nothing more than to just say hello.  A simple “hey, what’s up” can go a long way for some.  I  keep hearing about the “new normal” we’re going to be in after this.  People fear change a lot of times, but it forces us to adapt and not stay stagnant.  I know there’s things I’m going to have to do differently, we all are, it’ll be better soon and we’ll keep moving on……
